Dagenham Predator Locked Up for 15 Years Over 32 Child Sex Crimes
A depraved man from Dagenham has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars for a shocking spree of 32 child sex offences. Daniel Archbold, 33, was handed his hefty sentence at SNARESBROOK" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Snaresbrook Crown Court">Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 1 May.
Guilty Pleas and Swift Jury Verdict
Archbold pleaded guilty to nine counts of child sexual assault and 21 counts of taking indecent images on 10 March. However, he denied two rape charges.
Just two days later, on 12 March, a jury found him guilty of those rape charges in less than 20 minutes.
Evidence Unearthed from Hard Drive
The nightmare started back in April 2018. Police were tipped off by a third party who found indecent images and videos of children on Archbold’s hard drive. Officers swooped, confiscating his devices and arresting him.
Though he initially gave a no comment interview and was bailed, detectives uncovered more horrific evidence including indecent images he created himself. A Sexual Risk Order was slapped on Archbold to restrict his movements and lifestyle but he repeatedly breached it.
Further Offences and Victim Impact
- Archbold made contact with victims, breaking the terms of his Sexual Risk Order twice.
- He used a Kindle Fire to search for child pornography while under restrictions.
- Additional victims were found via forensics, with families left devastated.
After serving eight weeks for breaching his order, Archbold was re-arrested the day before his release and charged with the full catalogue of offences.
Detective’s Warning & Ongoing Safeguards
“Archbold’s actions were sickening. The fact he breached his Sexual Risk Order twice shows just how dangerous he is,” said Detective Constable Sam Rivers, who led the probe.
“Prison is the only place for this man. Thanks to the public’s tip-off and police work, he’ll be locked up for a long time.
“People may think viewing or sharing indecent images is harmless but it fuels abuse. Every image represents a vulnerable child suffering over and over again.”
“Anyone caught seeking or distributing child abuse images will face the full force of the law.”
Archbold’s initial 16-year sentence was reduced to 15 years because of his guilty pleas, but he will serve an extra year on licence under an extended sentence.
