Teen Murder Shocks Greenwich: Cameron Murfitt Stabbed to Death
Detectives have named the Greenwich stabbing victim as 18-year-old Cameron Murfitt. Police were called to Academy Road, Woolwich, at 3:28pm on Sunday, 15 March, following reports of a man with stab wounds.
Officers and paramedics found Cameron in Woolwich Common. Despite desperate efforts from passers-by and emergency teams, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stab Wound to Thigh Proves Fatal
A post-mortem at Greenwich Mortuary on 17 March confirmed Cameron died from a thigh stab wound. Specialist Crime South, led by Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, is handling the probe.
An 18-year-old man was arrested the next day on suspicion of murder and has since been bailed to return in mid-April.
Hit-and-Stab Incident Unfolded After Road Collision
Investigators revealed a collision between a white car and Cameron’s motorbike led to him falling off. The suspect then exited their vehicle and stabbed him.
