Maidstone Man Pleads Not Guilty to Causing Two Deaths on M26

Nigel Butler, 57, from The White House, Headcorn Road, Maidstone, has formally pleaded not guilty to two counts of death by dangerous driving. The charges relate to a fatal crash on October 15, 2020, on the M26 coast-bound carriageway at Wrotham.

Butler is accused of causing the deaths of David Boaler and Reece Watson by driving dangerously in a mechanically propelled vehicle—specifically an LDV Maxus—on the motorway. Both charges fall under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
