Wrong man stabbed multiple times in vicious Tyldesley alley attack
Innocent victim caught in brutal knife assault
Thomas Williamson was horrifically stabbed several times after being cornered in a gated alley on Charles Street, Tyldesley. The attack happened just after 1:30am on Saturday 25 September 2021, when Thomas was on his way home.
He didn’t know the attackers — Ben Dawber, Kane Adamson, and Joshua Prescott — who were roaming the streets hunting for trouble.
Three thugs on the loose turned violent
The trio targeted the wrong man that night. Thomas was just metres from his own home when he crossed paths with them. What followed was a brutal assault where a knife was pulled and used to stab him multiple times, including a fatal blow to the heart.
Justice served: Life sentences handed down
- Ben Dawber (b. 12/10/2003), with no fixed address, was jailed for life with a minimum of 20 years for murder, attempted robbery, and three counts of robbery.
- Kane Adamson (b. 13/09/2003), also with no fixed address, received a life sentence with a minimum of 18 years for murder and attempted robbery.
- Joshua Prescott (b. 17/07/2002) of Walter Street, Leigh, was sentenced to life with at least 17 years for murder.
This savage attack shocked the Tyldesley community as three young men carried out a chilling act of violence on a man who was simply walking home. The sentences reflect the brutal nature of this senseless crime.
