Walthamstow Drug Lord Toran Ali Caught Running Two County Lines
Toran Ali, 24, from Bridge End, Walthamstow, has been nailed as the mastermind behind two major county-line drug operations. In 2019, he ran the notorious cocaine and heroin network dubbed “Alpo” from February to October.
£238k Made in Drug Sales, Thousands of Messages Sent
The Alpo line raked in an estimated £238,320. Over 34,000 texts on the drug line’s phone arranged sales and deliveries. Ali used two London youths and Swindon-based runners to push drugs on his behalf.
Ali faced Swindon Crown Court this week and was handed a hefty six-year prison sentence for his role.
Gang Members Also Punished
- Lewis Owusu, 26, of Farmilo Road, Walthamstow, operated from Swindon. Linked tightly with Ali, he got three years and nine months plus nearly three years more for a prior offence in London.
- Marieneve Principato, 24, from Walpole Road, Tottenham, dodged jail but got a two-year community order plus 175 hours unpaid work for handling drug money.
- Jay Lucas, 24, Darnley Close, Walcot, Swindon, was already sentenced in 2021 to nearly six years behind bars.
Second County Line Bust While On Bail
While on bail, Ali tried to dodge cops by launching another drug line named “Draco” in late 2021. He recruited David Kalala, Charlie Mcculloch, and Darren Darville for this operation running just six weeks before the Swindon Fortitude team smashed it.
Ali copped a further six years and eight months, to run alongside his previous sentence. He’s also slapped with a five-year Serious Crime Prevention Order starting when he’s released.
Mcculloch got three years and one month plus 18 months for a separate GBH charge. Kalala and Darville received two years nine months and two years three months respectively.
