Drug Debt Fuels Violent Shooting: Man Jailed for 28 Years

Marcus Adepoju, 31, from Edmonton, has been locked up for 28 years after a savage violent spree over a tiny £3.50 drugs debt. The Woolwich Crown Court handed down the hefty sentence on April 12, following Adepoju’s conviction on multiple firearms and drug charges.

Armory Discovered in Forest Hill Storage Units

Police launched a thorough probe, tracing Adepoju’s movements to storage units in Forest Hill. Searches uncovered two firearms, ammunition, drugs, cash, and knives linked to the accused. His arrest in Chingford proved a major breakthrough when he was found holding keys to both the Forest Hill storage units and a house on Laleham Road.

Forensic Evidence Ties Adepoju to Multiple Shootings

Forensic tests linked one of the seized guns directly to a shooting in Catford and another incident in Forest Hill earlier this year. Adepoju’s DNA was found on the weapons, sealing his connection to a violent crime spree involving gunfire and intimidation.

Guilty Plea Unmasks Crime Web

Adepoju had earlier pleaded guilty to possession of firearms, money laundering, possession with intent to supply class A drugs, and attempted murder. Meanwhile, Francis Ajeigbe, 60, of Laleham Road, received a 2-year suspended sentence for similar drug and money laundering offences.

“Adepoju is an extremely dangerous individual,” said DC John Nightingale from Specialist Crime Trident Unit. “We remain committed to protecting Londoners and cracking down on gun crime.”

This sentence stands as a grim warning about the deadly consequences tied to petty drug debts, gun violence, and organised crime in London’s underworld.
