The violent episode started inside the victim’s house but quickly spilled out into the garden. In a fit of rage, Riley shoved the woman so hard she toppled over a chair, injuring her leg.

The horror didn’t stop there. The next day, Riley slapped and punched her until she collapsed to the floor. Ignoring her desperate pleas, he chillingly declared, “I’ve never hit a woman like this before, but now I’m doing it I am actually quite enjoying it.”

Brutal Assault Ends with Headbutt and Threats

  • Riley smashed the victim’s phone and threatened her life.
  • He kicked her repeatedly and forced her upstairs.
  • In a savage final act, he headbutted her to block any escape.

Terrified, the woman waited for Riley to fall asleep before fleeing to a friend’s house and alerting the police.

Justice Served: Riley Sentenced to Nearly Two Years

Riley, a High Street resident in Swansea, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including assault causing actual bodily harm, common assault, threats to kill, and criminal damage.

On 24 November at Peterborough Crown Court, he was sentenced to 23 months in prison and slapped with a ten-year restraining order banning contact with his victim.

“The sustained and horrifying ordeal this victim endured is shocking,” said Detective Sergeant Josh Mills. “Riley’s sickening admission he enjoyed the assault highlights the depth of his cruelty. We are committed to tackling domestic abuse and holding perpetrators to account.”
