Murder Probe Launched After Man Dies in Charlton Assault
A man has died after a serious assault in Charlton, sparking a murder investigation.
Violent Attack at Erwood Road Home
Police were called to a property on Erwood Road, SE7, at around 2:47pm on Wednesday, 22 November following reports of an assault involving a man and a woman. Officers found a 58-year-old man with injuries consistent with an attack, and a 47-year-old woman with minor injuries.
As officers moved to arrest two suspects, the male victim suddenly became critically ill. Emergency first aid was performed on scene before paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived.
Victim Dies Days Later
The man was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Despite medics’ best efforts, he died from his injuries on 25 November. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. A post-mortem examination will be arranged soon.
Two Men Charged and Held Over Attack
- Radoslaw Brzezicki, 41, of Erwood Road, Charlton
- Marius Bruzas, 49, of Longmoore Street, Westminster
Both appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on 24 November, charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Brzezicki also faces assault charges over the female victim’s injuries. Brzezicki was remanded in custody, while Bruzas was granted bail. Details of future court dates are pending.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
