Sex Pervert Busted in Canterbury – Jailed for Over Two Years

A vile sex offender who exposed himself to women and girls in public has been locked up for two years and four months. Terence Kamara, 26, scared victims on three separate occasions in Canterbury last March.

Caught on CCTV at Whitefriars Shopping Centre

Security staff at Whitefriars shopping centre spotted Kamara acting lewdly near public toilets on 22 March 2022. They quickly called Kent Police, who found him in a state of undress and arrested him.

While in custody, two teenage girls came forward, reporting indecent exposure by a man matching Kamara’s description. Despite being released on bail pending further enquiries, Kamara struck again just days later.

Offended Again Days Later

On 28 March, Kamara exposed himself in front of a woman in her twenties in the North Holmes Road area of Canterbury. His brazen behaviour horrified locals and sealed his fate.

Justice Served at Canterbury Crown Court

Kamara, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to sexual activity in the presence of a child and three counts of exposure. The court sentenced him to prison and slapped on a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He’ll also be on the sex offender register for 10 years.

PC Pat McKenna said: “There is no excuse for the disgraceful offences committed by Terence Kamara, whose actions caused great distress for the woman and girls who witnessed them. He made no attempts to hide what he was doing and clearly poses a serious threat to innocent members of the public.”

“Kent Police is committed to tackling violence against women and girls and we take robust action against criminals such as Kamara who think little to nothing of the harm their actions cause,” added PC McKenna.
