Drug Dealers Slammed with Long Jail Terms in Salisbury Sting
Two drug traffickers have been taken off the streets after huge hauls of Class A and B drugs were uncovered in a series of police raids across Wiltshire and Hertfordshire.
Massive Drug Bust in Salisbury Bedroom
Macauley Risby, 22, of Amesbury, was caught red-handed when officers from the Fortitude Team raided his Salisbury home on December 17, 2020. His bedroom was packed with drugs and cash, including:
- Over 9,000 ecstasy tablets
- 1,900 2C-B tablets
- 2kg of MDMA
- Nearly 2kg of ketamine
Risby admitted to being part of a nationwide drug supply network and pleaded guilty at Winchester Crown Court on January 5. He was sentenced to a hefty 10 years behind bars.
Watford Man Nabbed with £155,000 Worth of Cocaine
Cen Trota, 29, of Watford, was also locked up after a force swoop in Salisbury on September 1, 2022. Officers stopped a Skoda linked to a suspected drug deal and found 17 wraps of white powder inside.
Further searches uncovered over two kilograms of cocaine and £4,000 in cash at Trota’s Wilton address. Another vehicle search netted a staggering £23,000 in cash.
The total street value of Trota’s seized drugs was between £155,000 and £235,000. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and money laundering, and was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on January 27 to six years and nine months in prison.
Police Praise Public Help in Tackling Drug Crime
DC Mark Welch of the Fortitude Team said: “These are two excellent sentences and I’m pleased that Risby and Trota will be off the streets for years to come.
“The Fortitude Team work non-stop to tackle offenders causing the most harm and misery to communities across Wiltshire, but we wouldn’t be able to do it without the public’s help in reporting their concerns to us.
“Any piece of intelligence makes a difference and enables us to build a picture of those harming our communities and lets us target the right people.”
