Teen Charged Over Online Knife Sales in Merseyside Police Sting

A 15-year-old boy from Rochdale has been hit with multiple charges linked to selling offensive weapons online. Merseyside Police detectives have slapped him with serious allegations, including:

  • Offering for Sale or Hire Offensive Weapons
  • Publishing Material Promoting Knives for Combat Use
  • Manufacture, Sale or Hire of Flick or Gravity Knives

The teenager made his first court appearance today at Merseyside Youth Remand Court.

Merseyside Police Cracking Down on Knife Crime

Superintendent Phil Mullally, head of the Serious Violence and Knife Crime unit, slammed the deadly impact knives have on communities. He revealed the force is stepping up efforts to flush weapons off the streets – including busting online sellers.

“Knives destroy lives and threaten our communities. We are committed to proactive policing to keep these deadly weapons off the streets and out of young people’s hands,” said Mullally.

Mullally called on the public to come forward with any details on weapon sales, storage, or possession. He stressed that community help is vital to protect families and residents from knife violence.

“If you have information, please don’t stay silent. Your tip could save lives,” he warned.
