Three Charged Over Murder of Brighton Man Billy Henham
Three men have been charged with the murder of 24-year-old Billy Henham, whose body was found in a disused building in Brighton.
Body Found in Abandoned Brighton Building
Billy Henham, from Henfield, was discovered dead in a North Street property on Thursday, 2 January 2020. Police were called following concerns for his welfare.
New Evidence Leads to Arrests and Charges
Following fresh investigative breakthroughs, officers arrested four men linked to Billy’s murder. Three have now been charged and are due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 21 May.
- Alize Spence, 18, of Makepeace Road, Ealing
- Lamech Gordon-Carew, 19, of Cheeseman Close, Hampton
- Gregory Hawley, 28, of no fixed address
The fourth man, a 38-year-old Brighton local, was released without charges. Police are still seeking Dushane Meikle, 27, in connection with the case.
Family Mourns “Gentle” Billy
“Our thoughts are with Bill’s family and friends at this time,” said Detective Superintendent Alex Geldart, leading the investigation. “Billy lived with his parents between studies at Ravensbourne University. On the first anniversary of his passing, they appealed for any information and thanked the community for their support. “We will remember Billy’s life with a smile and miss his gentle ways, smiling face, and auburn hair. His death has left a huge hole in our family.”
