Brutal London Road Torture: Victim Suffered Knife Attacks, Boiling Salt & Homemade Flame Thrower
Charlie Saunter, William O’Brien, and Kai Haruna unleashed a savage six-hour terror on their victim at a home in Gravesend on July 5, 2020. What unfolded was a nightmare of knives, boiling salt water, dog attacks, and a homemade flame thrower.
Shocking Abuse and Mutilation Linked to Drugs Dispute
The trio didn’t hold back. The victim was slashed repeatedly, burnt, and viciously attacked including genital mutilation. Haruna even jumped on the man’s chest until he lost consciousness. The assault is believed to be tied to a drugs or money dispute. Threats, the prolonged torture, and O’Brien’s aggressive dog left the victim unable to escape.
Evidence Surfaces, Perpetrators Nabbed – Police Seize Drugs and Knives
Kent Police received a video of the shocking assault on July 7 after it circulated on social media. The same day, the three men were arrested. Officers found two knives and significant quantities of heroin and crack cocaine. An officer suffered minor injuries after being bitten by the dog during the arrest.
Sentenced for Terror: Jail Terms Up to 13 Years
- Saunter (Stone Cross, East Sussex) – 13 years 6 months
- O’Brien (Greenwich) – 11 years
- Haruna (Grove Park, London) – 8 years 3 months

Detective Constable John Carless said: “This case starkly highlights the brutal violence linked to drug supply. Over six hours they subjected their victim to horrific torture. These are violent criminals with zero regard for the law.”
