Met Police Bust County Lines Gang in Hatfield and Streatham

Operation Orochi, the Met’s elite squad tackling high-harm county lines drug dealers, swooped on a Hatfield property on 18 January 2022. They rescued two missing London boys, aged 14 and 15, from the clutches of criminals.

Twins Nabbed with Firearm and Drug Supply Evidence

Soon after, detectives caught twin brothers Omar and Malik Aziz near their home in Streatham, southwest London. From Malik, officers confiscated a mobile phone and black ‘Hoodrich’ gloves. The phone was linked to a Hatfield drug line controlling child dealers and sending mass texts promoting crack cocaine and heroin sales.

A search of the Aziz residence uncovered a small unloaded Sig Sauer pistol and eight rounds of ammunition. Footage on Malik’s phone showed him holding the gun while wearing the same gloves he had on at arrest. DNA tests confirmed the twins’ link to the weapon.

CCTV and Cash Reveal Dark County Lines Network

CCTV from the twins’ home showed the missing boys visiting before their disappearance — likely supplied with drugs for street selling. Over £2,000 in cash was seized. Investigators also found a zombie knife and Samir Mustafa’s driving licence. Mustafa was arrested the next day for illegally transporting the youths in his Mercedes while disqualified from driving.

Judgment Day: Harsh Sentences for County Lines Offenders

  • Malik Aziz, 24, received nine years for conspiracy to supply crack and heroin, plus possession of a firearm.
  • Omar Aziz, 24, got three years and two months for conspiracy to supply crack and heroin.
  • Samir Mustafa, 24, was jailed for two years and three months for conspiracy to supply drugs and driving while disqualified.

All three men were slapped with 10-year Criminal Behaviour Orders banning them from inciting gang violence or associating with under-16s without permission.

“County lines dealers exploit vulnerable kids as drug runners to dodge police. These youngsters are often too scared to speak up,” said Detective Constable Dec James of Operation Orochi. “Drill music glorifies these crimes, but this sentence sends a clear message: we will hunt down those who exploit children, no matter what.”

“Seizing a firearm shows the deadly link between drug supply and violence.”

Since April 2023, Operation Orochi and Rescue and Response have rescued 27 children and charged 25 with modern slavery offences in 20 operations, showing the relentless fight against county lines crime continues.
