County Line Dealers Nabbed After High-Speed Police Chase
Two drug dealers on the run have been locked up after their dodgy driving sparked a police chase through Gravesend. Lewis Falegan and Reis Bhandal, both 23, were caught red-handed on September 4, 2023.
Erratic Driving Leads to Dramatic Pursuit
Officers on patrol spotted a suspicious Ford Kuga weaving and speeding. When cops signalled the car to stop, it took off along the A2, sparking a pursuit. The chase only ended when the vehicle pulled up at Station Road, Belvedere.
Falegan, behind the wheel, and Bhandal, passenger, tried to bolt on foot but were swiftly arrested by police.
Stolen Car, Dozens of Drugs & £10,000 Cash Seized
Police found the Ford Kuga was sporting fake plates and reported stolen from Dulwich on August 19. A search uncovered more than 40 wraps of cocaine and heroin, four mobile phones, and nearly £10,000 in cash hidden on Bhandal and at his home in Dartford.
Courts Slam Five-Year Sentences on Gravesend Drug Runners
Both men, Falegan from Belvedere and Bhandal of Dartford, pled guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and handling stolen property. On March 1, 2024, Woolwich Crown Court sentenced them each to five years and seven months behind bars.
Detective Constable Emily Matthews, Medway CID, said: “These criminals came to Gravesend to peddle class A drugs but were stopped by alert officers reacting to Falegan’s reckless driving.
“Their escape back to London failed, leading to their arrest and the seizure of drugs and cash. Anyone else looking to push class A drugs in north Kent should expect the same swift justice.”
