Two Convicted for Brutal Stabbing Murder in Slough

A jury has found 22-year-old Hassan Al-Kubanji from London and 21-year-old Riaz Miah, with no fixed address, guilty of murdering Rafaqit Kayani. The verdict was delivered at Reading Crown Court.

Knife Crime and Drugs: Shocking Details Revealed

Riaz Miah had already admitted to carrying a knife in public and possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply. Another man, 41-year-old Miguel Parian John from Slough, was also found guilty of helping the offenders and carrying a knife.

The trio’s sentencing will be announced at a later date.

Fatal Stabbing on Keel Drive: Victim Dies in Hospital

The horrific attack happened around 1.45pm on 30 August last year. Rafaqit Kayani, 24, was found seriously injured on Keel Drive, Slough. Despite being rushed to hospital, he died from a fatal stab wound to the chest.

“Today, the jury has concluded Hassan Al-Kubanji and Riaz Miah tragically murdered Rafaqit Kayani,” said Detective Chief Inspector Dejan Avramovic of the Major Crime Unit. “This conviction sends a clear message that we will not tolerate knife crime in Slough or the Thames Valley.”

Police Vow to Crackdown on Knife Crime

Superintendent Lee Barnham, Slough’s local policing commander, expressed condolences to the victim’s family and vowed zero tolerance for knife crime.

“This conviction shows our determination to bring violent offenders to justice. We are dedicating more officers to hunt down anyone carrying weapons,” Barnham said.

“We urge the public to help us by reporting knife crime anonymously through Crimestoppers or by calling 101.”
