Two Found Guilty of Brutal Rambo Knife Murder in Merry Hill

Omari Lauder and Mpho Obi Convicted After Three-Week Trial
Omari Lauder, 24, from Wolverhampton Street, Darlaston, and 22-year-old Mpho Obi of Strathfield Walk, Merry Hill, were found guilty of Terrell’s murder at 1 Crown Court. Both had denied the charges, including possession of an offensive weapon, but were convicted after a lengthy three-week trial.
Before the trial, Obi admitted to possessing heroin and cannabis with intent to supply, while Lauder was cleared of these drug charges. The pair are set to be sentenced on July 1.
Ferocious Attack in Flat Leaves Victim Dead
On the evening of September 18, the two men turned up armed with a large Rambo knife. Terrell was already at the flat with a friend when the brutal assault unfolded.
The defendants launched a savage attack, repeatedly stabbing Terrell and leaving him to die at the scene. Lauder sustained injuries during the stabbing. Paramedics performed CPR, but their efforts were in vain.
Crucial Evidence and Arrests Lead to Conviction
- CCTV footage placed Lauder and Obi in the area with the murder weapon.
- After the attack, the pair fled by taxi. CCTV captured Lauder arriving at his home, where officers found blood trails and evidence he attempted self-administered first aid.
- Obi’s phone contained a chilling message sent right after the stabbing, boasting about the attack.
- Obi was arrested on the day of the murder, while Lauder was taken into custody two days later after seeking hospital treatment. He falsely claimed he had been chased by a dog and impaled on a fence.
Detectives praised for their hard work in piecing together the case now await the sentencing of these two men for a chilling, violent murder that shocked Merry Hill.
