Terrifying Dog Attack on 4-Year-Old Near Manchester

A young girl was savagely mauled by a pack of American Bully-style dogs while playing in a garden near Manchester United’s training grounds. Four aggressive dogs attacked the four-year-old as she played with a friend in Carrington, Greater Manchester.

Owner Kept 14 Dogs Around House and Caravan

Neighbours revealed the dogs belonged to a local breeder who kept 14 of these Bully-type dogs around his home and in a caravan. One neighbour said: “He’s a breeder. There are a lot of these Bully-type dogs there. He had puppies that he kept in a caravan.”

Neighbours described the horrific scene as the little girl’s mother screamed, “Help me – my baby!” as she desperately tried to fend off the animals.

Rescue and Police Response

On Sunday afternoon, the girl’s parents and neighbours rushed to pull the dogs off her. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is now in stable condition. Witnesses said the girl was covered in blood, with bite marks on her face and head.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed: “Shortly before 2.40pm, we received a report of a child injured by dogs at an address on Ackers Lane, Carrington. The girl was taken to hospital and is now in good condition.”

Police seized four dogs from the property and arrested three people on suspicion of having a dangerous dog.

Warnings Ignored – ‘Disaster Waiting to Happen’

Neighbours revealed police had been called to the breeder’s home numerous times before. One warned: “This was a disaster waiting to happen.”

Dog attacks are on the rise across England and Wales, with nearly 22,000 reports of out-of-control dogs causing injury in 2018, up from around 16,000 previously.

This shocking attack raises fresh questions about the dangers of keeping large numbers of aggressive dog breeds in residential areas.
