Man stabbed to death in shocking Merton attack

Police were called to The Broadway, Merton, SW19, just before 1pm on Wednesday, 13 January after reports of a stabbing.

Officers arrived to find a 41-year-old man with fatal stab wounds. Despite emergency crews’ desperate efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:55am. His next of kin have been informed.

Two men held over fatal stabbing

Two men, aged 33 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody at south London police stations.

Meanwhile, two other men in their 20s, who were also initially detained, have since been released with no further action.

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) are on the case, piecing together what happened.
