16-Year-Old Boy Dies in Chelmsford Murder Probe
A murder investigation is underway after a 16-year-old boy was found seriously injured and later died in Chelmsford.
Arrest Made After Late-Night Attack
Police were called to Waterson Vale just after 11:30pm last night following reports of a boy in critical condition. Despite being rushed to hospital, the teenager tragically died. His family is being supported by specialist officers.
In the early hours, an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
“This is a tragic incident where a 16-year-old child has lost his life,” said Detective Chief Inspector Ashley Howard of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate. “We have a team of officers working solidly to determine what has happened here and get justice for his family.”
“A cordon is in place at Waterson Vale and likely to remain while enquiries continue. We understand this may cause disruption but need the public’s help to understand how this happened.”
“We urge anyone in the area last night who saw or heard anything, or who has footage from CCTV, doorbell cams, or dashcams, to get in touch.”
