Tragedy in Chippenham: Toddler Killed in Van Collision

Police rushed to Campion Close just after noon today following a horrific crash involving a van and a three-year-old girl. The toddler sadly died at the scene.

Family Devastated, Community in Shock

The little girl’s family are shattered and receiving support from specially-trained officers. Insp James Brain of the Chippenham Area Community Policing Team offered his condolences, saying, “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the girl’s family at this incredibly difficult time.”

He urged people to respect the family’s privacy and be mindful of Covid restrictions when paying respects. “We understand the local community will be deeply affected and wish to come together safely,” he added.

Van Driver Cooperating, Road Closed

The driver stayed at the scene and is assisting police. No arrests have been made. Campion Close remains closed and is expected to be shut late into the night as investigations continue.
