A £10,000 John Deere Gator was recovered from a wooded area near the A2 in Dover on Tuesday, 17 May 2022. The valuable vehicle was spotted by a local farmer and was quickly identified as stolen by an off-duty rural officer.
Swift Police Action Leads to Recovery
The off-duty officer recognised the Gator had been stolen just two days earlier, on Sunday, 15 May. Working with local patrols, the team ensured the stolen machine was safely returned to its rightful owner.
Rural Task Force Hunts Theft Gang
Police enquiries are ongoing to track down those behind the daring theft. The Rural Task Force (RTF), a specialist unit tackling rural crime, is leading the investigation. The RTF works closely with partner agencies including the RSPCA, RSPB, Environment Agency, and local councils to fight rural offences like burglaries, hare coursing, and livestock worrying.
