Violent robbery attempt on bus in Rushey Green
Two people were rushed to hospital after a brutal stabbing on a Transport for London (TfL) bus in Catford this afternoon. The terrifying incident unfolded around 1.43pm on Rushey Green (SE6) when suspects tried to snatch a mobile phone from a male passenger.
When a female passenger stepped in to stop the robbery, she was stabbed in the hand. Emergency services raced to the scene following reports of a violent fight on the bus.
Rapid London Ambulance response saves lives
“We sent multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, fast response paramedics, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer. London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched,” confirmed a London Ambulance Service spokesperson.
“Our first paramedic arrived within three minutes. Two people were treated at the scene. One was rushed to a major trauma centre, the other taken to a nearby hospital.”
The victims’ injuries have not been fully detailed but are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Police hunt for suspects – CCTV under review
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation but have not made any arrests yet. Detectives are combing through CCTV footage from the bus and surrounding areas.
They urge witnesses to come forward to aid the probe.
