Mother Faces Losing Eye After Brutal Chemical Attack on Kids in Clapham

A 31-year-old mum was doused with corrosive acid alongside her two young daughters in a shocking Clapham attack — and now faces losing sight in her right eye, police have revealed.

Horrific Attack on Lessar Avenue

The terrifying assault happened at 7:25pm on January 31, when a man hurled a corrosive alkaline substance at the woman and her daughters, aged eight and three, in Lessar Avenue. The trio were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Metropolitan Police Commander Jon Savell gave a grim update: the mum is in a “very critical but stable condition” with life-changing facial wounds. Thankfully, her daughters have been discharged.

Manhunt Underway for Suspect Abdul Ezedi

Police are hunting 31-year-old Abdul Ezedi, last spotted near Southwark Bridge at 9:50pm that night. Officers are combing CCTV and tracking his Tube journeys via bank card usage to pin down his location.

A man arrested on suspicion of helping Ezedi has been bailed while the probe continues.

Counter-Terror and Detectives Dig Deeper

Counter-terror teams are assisting with the investigation. Detective Superintendent Rick Sewett said:

“We’re focused on understanding the relationship between Ezedi and the victim. The motive is still unclear.”

Police confirmed Ezedi is not the father of the injured children, adding another twist to an already baffling case.
