Brutal Baton Attack in Canonbury Road Leaves Teen With Life-Changing Injuries
Police were scrambled at 6.54pm on Tuesday, 29 December after a 19-year-old man was viciously assaulted on Canonbury Road, N1. The victim was found with severe facial injuries and rushed to hospital, suffering life-altering damage.
Victim Ambushed and Brutally Beaten
The young man was walking along the street when two men approached him. One thug snatched his bag before repeatedly striking him around the face with a baton-style weapon. The attack was unprovoked and savage.
Suspect on the Loose
- The attacker is described as a black male, late teens, spiky hair, skinny build, about 5ft 7in tall.
- He wore a black top and black and white tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Constable Faisal Issaouni of the Central North Basic Command Unit said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack on a man who has been left with injuries that will affect him for the rest of his life.”
He added: “We’re reviewing CCTV and interviewing witnesses to track down this dangerous individual. Anyone with information must come forward immediately.”
