Eastbourne RNLI Racing to Rescue – Twice in One Day!
Eastbourne RNLI volunteers were scrambled twice on Thursday, November 3, showing why they’re true heroes of the sea.
False Alarm But Full Throttle Launch
At noon, the All Weather Lifeboat was launched after reports of a vessel in trouble west of Eastbourne Pier. But on arrival, it was a false alarm. A local fishing boat was safe and sound, just netting close to shore. Good intentions, but no drama this time.
Late Night Lifeboat Action Near Belle Tout
The volunteer crew got another call at 11.30pm, this time launching the Inshore Lifeboat to assist Coastguards and the Rescue Helicopter east of Belle Tout Lighthouse. Details are scarce due to the sensitive nature of the incident. Whatever it was, it demanded the best from Eastbourne RNLI.
