Early Morning Shooting and Stabbing Shakes Barking
Police rushed to Hertford Road, Barking, just before 4am on Monday, 2 May, after reports of a shooting. A man in his 20s was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital. Luckily, his injuries are not life-threatening.
Gunshot Victim and Woman Arrive at East London Hospital
Shortly after, officers were alerted to a man and woman who turned up at an east London hospital themselves. The man, in his 30s, had a gunshot wound to his leg. The woman suffered minor grazing injuries from a bullet. Both are in stable condition.
Police Investigate Violent Incident in Hertford Road Area
All three victims are believed to have been injured in the same Barking area where police cordons remain. The investigation continues in a bid to piece together what sparked the violence.
“It is absolutely critical that we, along with our partners, drive down violent crime in London – this is the top priority for all in the Met,” said a police spokesperson.
Authorities emphasised their commitment to fighting violent crime through prevention, enforcement, and disrupting gangs and organised crime networks.
