Shocking cruelty in East London as a fox was set on fire in the dead of night. Police were alerted on Monday, 27 February after an animal rescue group was tipped off by a local resident.

Horrific Scene Near Kestrel Avenue

A terrified member of the public woke around 1am to hear screaming in a wooded area near Kestrel Avenue and Linton Gardens, E6. Initially thinking it was a person in distress, they found instead a group of men dousing a fox in lighter fluid before setting it ablaze.

Suspects Described

The attackers are said to be four black men, aged between 18 and 20. Their callous actions have sparked outrage across the community.

Police Launch Wildlife Crime Investigation

Detective Constable James Mahoney, a wildlife crime officer in Newham, urged residents to stay alert. He said: “This horrific act is a stark reminder that we all need to remain vigilant and report any information to us or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
