Tragedy on A21: Woman Dies After Car Fire and Bridge Fall
Azra Kemal, 24, has been named as the woman who died in a tragic early-morning incident on the A21 near Tonbridge.
Horrific Fall After Car Fire
Just after 2am on Thursday, Azra escaped from a car that had caught fire but tragically fell from a nearby bridge. Despite two hours of intense efforts by air ambulance medics and paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A21 was shut for nearly 12 hours following the incident, causing major disruption.
Man Arrested and Released
A 31-year-old man from London was arrested at the scene but has since been released without charge.
Kent Police Speak Out
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating the death of a woman who fell from a bridge on the A21 are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances. They are preparing a report for the coroner.”
The police were called at 2.34am on 16 July 2020 after Azra fell near the Tonbridge exit. She was declared dead by the South East Coast Ambulance Service at the scene.
