Police in Northern Ireland have cracked down on fake charity collectors after making five arrests. The suspects – four men aged between 30 and 48, plus a 30-year-old woman – were caught red-handed when officers stopped their car on Victoria Road, Armagh, last Thursday, July 13.

Clipboards and Lies: Fraud Uncovered

During the vehicle search, police seized clipboards and other gear used to trick the public. The gang faces suspicion of fraud by false representation after posing as bona fide charity collectors across multiple areas in Northern Ireland.

Inspector Browne issued a stark warning to the public:

“Always ask for ID if a charity collector comes knocking. Genuine fundraisers won’t be offended. Stay vigilant to avoid falling victim,”
