87-Year-Old Pensioner Dies After Brutal North London Robbery

An 87-year-old man has tragically died after being violently robbed in Manor House, North London. The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation following the shocking attack.

Deadly Attack in Goodchild Road

Emergency services rushed to Goodchild Road near Manor House at 5:53pm on Tuesday, 7 May 2025, after reports of a robbery involving the elderly victim. The pensioner was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly passed away on Thursday, 9 May.

Suspect in Custody

A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, robbery, a racially aggravated public order offence, and assaulting a police officer. He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.

Murder Inquiry Underway

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers, leading the Met’s Specialist Crime North Unit, said:

“This is a horrific incident which very sadly resulted in an innocent man dying. His family are being supported by specialist officers.”

“At this stage, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. However, this is a fast-paced investigation and we urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.”

Police Boost Patrols to Reassure Locals

Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke, responsible for local policing, confirmed extra patrols have been deployed to reassure the community.

“A man has lost his life in a tragic way, and our thoughts remain with his family. If you have any concerns, please speak to officers on patrol.”
