Major London Road Shut After Brutal Stabbing

A key route between Peckham and New Cross in London is shut both ways after a stabbing in the early hours of Friday, August 4.

Queen’s Road has been closed since around 1 am, confirmed by traffic service Inrix. The Metropolitan Police have set up a cordon at the scene. A man is seriously injured and fighting for his life in hospital.

Car Chase Ends in Violent Attack

The drama unfolded when a black Mercedes-Benz chased a silver Vauxhall Vectra to the junction of Queen’s Road and Kender Street, SE15. It was here the stabbing took place.

The London Ambulance Service rushed multiple teams to the scene. This included two incident response officers, two medics in fast-response cars, two ambulance crews, and the Hazardous Area Response Team. London’s Air Ambulance trauma team also arrived to provide emergency care.

Victim Rushed to Major Trauma Centre

The injured man, believed to be in his 30s, was treated onsite before being taken urgently to a major trauma centre. Police have made no arrests yet but are investigating. The crime scene remains sealed off.

Traffic Chaos as Bus Routes Diverted

Queen’s Road closure has caused major disruption. Several Transport for London bus routes—36, 136, 171, 177, 436, P13, and night buses N89, N136, N171—are diverted, snarling traffic across the area.
