Man on Mobility Scooter Mugged at Knife-Point in Brighton
Police are hunting a knife-wielding thug who robbed a man on a mobility scooter in broad daylight. The shocking attack happened around 7.45pm on Sunday, March 1, on Elm Grove near Washington Street, Brighton.
Knife-Wielding Suspect Steals Scooter and Flees
The victim was peacefully riding his electric scooter when a tall, slim white man wearing a blue puffa jacket, blue baseball cap, and light jeans suddenly demanded the scooter at knife-point. The attacker then jumped on the scooter and sped off before police arrived.
Suspect Description and Appeal for Witnesses
A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “A man was riding his electric scooter up Elm Grove around 7.45pm on Sunday 1 March when he was approached by an unknown man in possession of a knife, who demanded he handed over the vehicle. The suspect then rode off on the scooter before police were called.”
Police urge anyone who saw the incident or has CCTV footage to come forward. Witnesses can report online or call 101, quoting serial 1156 of 01/03.
