Man Dies After Brutal Street Fight in Merton – Murder Investigation Underway
Detectives have launched a murder probe after a 32-year-old man died following a savage assault in Merton.
Victim Collapses on London Road
Police were called just after 10pm on Thursday, 19 April, when London Ambulance staff found the man collapsed on London Road, Morden, suspecting he had been attacked. The victim was rushed to a south London hospital in critical condition but sadly died at 11:45pm the following night.
Arrest Made as Investigation Intensifies
Officers established the victim was involved in a fight with another man on the street. Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command have taken over the investigation. A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday, 20 April, and remains in custody at a south London police station.
