Young Girl Slapped in Shocking Portsmouth Assault
A 9-year-old girl was attacked in broad daylight in Portsmouth, and police are desperate for answers.
Blow from Behind
At around 3.30pm on Wednesday, 27 March, the girl was walking down Goldsmith Avenue when a man suddenly slapped her in the face from behind.
She suffered bruising and swelling following the unprovoked attack.
Suspect Description and Appeal
The suspect is described as Asian, aged between 30 and 40, and around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall.
PC Matthew Campbell said: “This was an unprovoked attack where a young child has been assaulted. We need to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who thinks they may know who was responsible. If you have any information, please get in touch with us on 101 quoting 44190106410.”
Portsmouth residents urged to come forward with any tips to help catch the attacker.
