Two Men Attacked After Trying to Stop Bike Theft on Ramsgate Seafront
Police are hunting witnesses after two men were violently assaulted on Ramsgate seafront following an attempt to stop a bike theft.
Bottle Attack and Stamping Incident
The trouble kicked off between 7pm and 8pm on Monday 19 July 2021. The two victims challenged a group trying to steal a bicycle from a man on Harbour Parade’s pedestrian area, opposite Kent Place.
One man, aged in his thirties, was hit with a bottle. The other, in his twenties, was knocked to the ground and stamped on.
Good Samaritans Intervene, Suspects Flee Towards Beach
A group of motorcyclists stepped in to break up the attack. The suspects fled towards a slipway leading to the beach near Marina Esplanade.
Both victims needed hospital treatment following the ordeal.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Officers want to speak to the cyclist who left the scene unharmed on his bike.
