Police swooped on a Preston home Sunday afternoon after a woman was found dead inside. The 43-year-old victim, Sarah Ashcroft, was discovered unresponsive just before 2pm on Sharoe Green Lane, Fulwood.
Tragic Death Under Investigation
Emergency services rushed to the scene but sadly confirmed Sarah was dead. Her death is being treated as unexplained while a Home Office post-mortem failed to pinpoint a cause. Police have launched a murder probe.
Man Arrested Over Unexplained Death
A 44-year-old Preston man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Officers are piecing together what happened as enquiries continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Haworth-Oates urged anyone with information to come forward. He said:
“My thoughts are with Sarah’s family. We’re supporting them with family liaison officers. While we have made an arrest, the investigation is ongoing as we try to understand the circumstances of Sarah’s death.
