Teen Dies After Brutal Knife Attack in Huddersfield
A teenage boy has tragically died following a vicious stabbing in Huddersfield’s Kings Mill Lane area early this morning (Monday, 20 February). Police are hunting witnesses as serious investigations ramp up.
Two Men and Woman Arrested Over Attempted Murder
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team have arrested two males, aged 37 and 14, on suspicion of attempted murder. A 19-year-old woman was also detained this afternoon in connection with the case.
The victim, just 17 years old, was found injured around 3:57 a.m. after reports of a male lying on the ground. He was rushed to hospital with serious wounds from a bladed weapon but sadly died from his injuries later that morning.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Weekes said, “I am appealing for witnesses and information from the public. We want to speak with anyone who saw the attack or any suspicious activity in the Kings Mill Lane area between 3:40am and 4am today.”
The scene remains sealed off with road closures on Somerset Road and Dog Kennel Bank as officers carry out fast-moving enquiries.
Community Policing and Support Following Tragedy
Detective Superintendent Stuart Bainbridge confirmed that Huddersfield Neighbourhood Policing Team are patrolling to reassure residents. Specially trained officers are offering support to the victim’s family.
“We recognise the impact knife crime has on communities,” Bainbridge said. “We’re working hard with partners, including Operation Jemlock, to tackle knife crime and take action against offenders.”
