A police helicopter was scrambled in the early hours of Thursday morning, circling the Park Wood area of Maidstone for over an hour. Kent Police called in air support just after midnight to aid a mystery investigation.
Helicopter Hovered Over Park Wood for Over an Hour
Officers were first alerted at around 12:50am on November 5th. Witnesses reported the helicopter buzzing low with a searchlight, while police cars moved swiftly through nearby roads.
- One local said: “The helicopter was over our house and a police car came down from Sutton Road.”
- Another added: “I watched it for ages from my bedroom window. It was circling then suddenly stopped right overhead.”
- “It hovered with a searchlight for 20-odd minutes. It actually woke me up,” they said.
