Shock Crash on Isle of Wight Leaves Woman Critical
Police on the Isle of Wight are urgently calling for witnesses after a serious collision on Middle Road left a 62-year-old woman fighting for her life.
Serious Crash at Chessell Crossroads
The smash happened around 5pm on Monday at the crossroads of Middle Road and Dodpits Lane/Brook Road in Chessell. The woman, driving a white Toyota Yaris, was airlifted to the mainland by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. She remains in critical but stable condition in hospital.
Passengers Suffer Serious Injuries
The Toyota’s passenger, also 62 and from Hilsea, portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth, and the other vehicle’s driver, a 25-year-old man from Newport driving a Honda, suffered serious injuries. Both have been rushed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The road remains shut today as officers continue their investigation. Anyone who saw the crash or has information is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 44180198274.
