Met Police Secure Extended Detention Warrants
The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command has secured extended detention warrants for four men arrested on Thursday, 9 July. The move allows detectives to keep the suspects in custody as investigations ramp up.
Arrests Over Suspected Islamist Extremist Plot
Working with East Midlands Counter Terrorism Policing, officers arrested a 27-year-old at one east London address, a 31-year-old and a 17-year-old at another east London property, plus a 32-year-old in Leicestershire. All four face suspicion of preparing or instigating terrorism, under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
