Tragic Crash on A11 Claims Two Lives

Police were scrambled at 12.10pm this Monday, 30 May, after a three-vehicle smash on the southbound A11 between Elveden and Barton Mills.

Deadly Collision Involving Maxus, Range Rover, and Lorry

A white Maxus flatbed truck collided with a red Range Rover Sport and a Scania lorry. Emergency crews, including ambulance and Suffolk Fire and Rescue, rushed to the scene. Tragically, the Maxus driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

A11 Shut Down, Diversions in Force

The crash forced the closure of the A11 in both directions. The northbound carriageway reopened around 6pm, but the southbound remains shut while investigations continue. Drivers are urged to follow diversion routes.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Officers are urgently appealing for witnesses. Anyone driving nearby with dashcams should review their footage for crucial evidence. Information can be passed on to the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference 33220/22.
