Two Arrested in Dover Over Syria Terror Links

A man and a woman were busted yesterday (Saturday 7 December) on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences. The 32-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were detained in Dover.

Charges Include Terror Preparation and Funding

The man faces allegations of preparing to commit terror acts and funding or supporting terrorism. The woman is suspected of preparing to commit terrorism offences.

West Midlands Counter Terror Police Leading Probe

Officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit made the arrests following intelligence-led operations. Both suspects are being questioned at a police station in the West Midlands. Authorities confirmed there was no danger to the public.

Not Connected to London Bridge Attack

Police stressed the arrests have no link to the London Bridge terror attack that shook the capital on 29 November. Investigations into this case were already underway before that incident.
