Police Hunt Distraction Burglar Targeting Elderly Women in Birmingham
West Midlands Police are on the lookout for a man linked to a string of distraction burglaries across Birmingham. The suspect has been targeting vulnerable elderly women, fooling his way into their homes by pretending to be a council or water company official.
Sinister Ruse Preys on Elderly Victims
Throughout September, the crook posed as an official needing to check taps, gaining access to multiple homes. In one heart-stopping case in Erdington, an 88-year-old woman was assaulted and is now in hospital fighting for her life.
Despite extensive CCTV checks, detectives have hit a wall and are now begging the public for tips.
