Mass Casualties Treated at Letterkenny Hospital

Letterkenny University Hospital declared a “Major Emergency Standby” as they handled multiple serious injuries. A spokesperson urged the public, “Do not visit the Emergency Department unless it’s an absolute emergency.”

Applegreen confirmed a “serious incident” at the dealer-operated site.

Nation Mourns; Emergency Services Rally

Taoiseach Micheál Martin sent his thoughts and prayers to the Creeslough community. “I’m also thinking of the emergency services from the north-west and Northern Ireland who are working in a very traumatic situation,” he said.

An extensive response is underway, involving:

  • Donegal County Council and An Garda Síochána
  • National Ambulance Service and Irish Coast Guard
  • Coast Guard Rescue 118 Helicopter and Irish Air Corps Medivac 112
  • Northern Ireland Ambulance HEMS and Urban Search and Rescue teams
  • Local fire and mountain rescue services

Residents have been urged to stay clear of the area.
