Cyclist Knocked Unconscious in Fareham Crash – Police Seek Witnesses
A 22-year-old cyclist was found unconscious with serious injuries after falling off his bike in Fareham on Friday night. Police are urgently looking for witnesses to piece together what happened.
Crash on Highlands Road
At around 7.50pm on June 10, the cyclist was heading along Highlands Road towards the A27 when he suddenly fell off his bike. While this happened, a small black car sped past, swerving slightly. Fortunately, the vehicle did not hit the rider, but the driver might have seen the incident unfold.
Serious Injuries and Hospitalisation
The man was knocked unconscious for several minutes and suffered injuries to his arm and leg. He was rushed by ambulance to Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
Police Issue Appeal
“We do not believe the vehicle and the cyclist came into contact with one another,” said PC Jim Chapman. “However, the driver was right there when the cyclist fell, so they may know what caused the accident.”
“If you saw the incident or are the driver of the black vehicle, please come forward and help us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the local police immediately.
