The Strictly buzz is reaching fever pitch! The 15th and final celebrity contestant for the upcoming season has been confirmed. Legendary TV host and entertainer Les Dennis is set to strut his stuff when the new series kicks off this autumn on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

From Family Fortunes to Foxtrots

Strictly Come Dancing is famed for its glitzy costumes, jaw-dropping dance moves, and stars pushing themselves beyond the limits. Les Dennis brings a showbiz career that spans over 50 years to the ballroom. Best known for hosting Family Fortunes for 16 years, Les started out cracking jokes on the Working Men’s Club circuit in Liverpool.

His big break came from the TV talent show New Faces, leading to iconic moments with the late Dustin Gee on The Laughter Show. TV fans will also recognise him from roles in Extras, Brookside, Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders, and two years on Coronation Street.

Stage and Screen Veteran Takes on a New Challenge

Les’s impressive stage résumé includes work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, English National Opera, and hits like Hairspray, Legally Blonde The Musical, and 42nd Street. Now, as he approaches 70, Les is ready to tackle Strictly. “I’m thrilled to be doing this iconic wonderful show,” he said. “In my career, I’ve always gone for challenges outside my comfort zone, and this is the ultimate one! Can’t wait.”
