Emergency Services Mobilise in Full Force
A London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesperson revealed:
“Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters are tackling the fire on London Road in Mitcham. One of our 32-metre turntable ladders is in use as a water tower.”
“The brigade’s 999 Control has taken 33 calls. Fire crews from Norbury, Wimbledon, Tooting, and nearby stations were dispatched after the blaze was reported at 7:29pm.”
