Nine nabbed in Leatherhead immigration swoop after late-night car stop!
Police made a significant bust in Leatherhead on the night of 15 October. Officers on routine patrol halted a car on Dilston Road just before midnight. Their checks revealed several passengers were in the UK illegally.
Car Stop Sparks Big Arrests
The initial stop triggered further investigations. A search at a nearby home on Cleeve Road uncovered more men suspected of immigration offences. Altogether, nine men aged between 45 and 53 were arrested and are now in custody.
Police and Border Agency Team Up
The police are working closely with the UK Border Agency as enquiries continue. Officials assured locals the increased police presence was part of standard procedure and not a cause for alarm.
