Rush Hour Chaos as Police Car Crashes with VW Polo in Newham
A nasty smash involving a Met Police response car and a VW Polo rocked Prince Regent Lane, Newham early on Sunday morning. The crash happened just after 6am opposite the Metro and Place of Escape, leaving the Polo driver and police officers hurt.
Road Closures and Traffic Mayhem
The collision was so bad, authorities shut down Prince Regent Lane in both directions. Traffic diversions snarled up the area, restricting access to the A13. Bus routes were either diverted or temporarily axed, throwing travel plans into chaos for commuters.
Police Launch Full Investigation
Investigators from Chadwell Heath garage swarmed the scene to get to the bottom of what caused the crash. The Met Police have been approached for an official statement and are expected to reveal more about the incident soon.

“At around 05:43hrs on Sunday, 7 January a police car was in collision with a Volkswagen Polo on the A13 Prince Regent Lane, E13. The driver of the Polo was taken to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. No one else was injured as a result of the incident. Road closures were put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident. These have since been removed.”
